Are there others having issues with Ocwen Finance?
Ocwen has been handling my debt collecting from another creditor, and it has been a nightmare. For about 8 months they’ve been calling anywhere from 5 to 14 times a week even after monthly payment arrangements are made. They also called my grandparents (who co signed) at the same frequency, threatening to garnish their pension. During this same time frame, Ocwen managed to get a hold of my Dad’s number, who had nothing to do with the debt, and call him and disclose my debt information to him, I can only assume to guilt him into paying.
We finally agreed on a settlement offer and I paid it in March; final payment went out on March 28th, and still no debt release letter.
Long story short, I gave them a lot of money, and still other than my bank statement, have no proof of paying off the debt. Just curious if anyone else has had this problem. And what do I do now.
well, you need to attain proof of release. Call the company and sit on the phone for as long as possible until you can talk to someone who will process out your release letter. If that doesn’t work, contact your bank and have them mail you a proof of transaction between your bank and Ocwen Finance to show that the funds were transfered to their account in the very least. Make sure you stay on top of this. Financial companies are real douche bags.
